CLOVIS, N.M. -- Wednesday, Clovis City Commissioners conducted not their usual meeting, but a public candidate forum to take questions regarding business and economic issues in their city.

Mayor Gayla Brumfield attended the Municipal Election Candidate Forum to answer questions as well as David Lansford, who is also running for mayor in the upcoming election. Lansford spoke about three main concerns he thinks Clovis is facing: developing a sustainable water supply, new infrastructure and repairs and housing issues.

"With the expansion of Cannon Air Force Base, there's a need for more housing for families, for single individuals who are in the Air Force and so forth and so we've got some challenges ahead of us," Lansford explained.

Wednesday's forum was hosted by the Clovis Industrial Development Corporation and the Clovis and Curry County Chamber of Commerce.
