PORTALES, N.M. (AP) - A Roosevelt County deputy sheriff has been cited for a moving violation after her patrol car was hit by a train. The sheriff's office says Deputy Amber Parker wasn't injured after the Wednesday morning collision.

Chief Deputy Malin Parker tells the Portales News-Tribune Deputy Parker was crossing the tracks when a southbound train hit the back of the sheriff's office car.

Parker told state investigators she didn't see the train.

Vehicles are required to stop at all railroad intersections that do not have crossing guards.
