LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- Some of the most talented actors in the business are dressing to impress and putting their best foot forward Sunday night in hopes of taking home a highly-coveted Oscar award.
The 84th Annual Academy Awards are taking place Sunday night at 7:30 with the Red Carpet beginning at 6 p.m.
Many are anticipating some big wins as some of the actors are going up against their good friends.
Nominees for Best Picture:

-The Descendants
-Extremely Loud & Incredibly Loose
-The Help
-Hugo
-Midnight in Paris
-Moneyball
-The Tree of Life
-War Horse
The 1st Academy Awards were held in the Blossom Room of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel honoring movies released from August 1, 1927 to August 1, 1928.
While some Amarillo locals said they do not plan on watching the awards, others plan on tuning in as they do every year.
"I definitely think Moneyball would be a very good one that could win," Stacy Cirone said. "Brad Pitt is also a great actor that I think also could get one of the awards."
Hollywood glamour is something else grabbing the attention of viewers.
"I always watch it," Lana Dunn stated, "and, to be honest, the main reason I watch it is to see what the stars are wearing."
