Despite rising gasoline prices, Amarillo is the home of this week's cheapest gas in the state of Texas.

That's according to AAA Texas.

The price for unleaded gasoline in Amarillo is $3.41, up four cents from last week. At the same time last year, Amarillo's price for a gallon of fuel was listed at $3.25, according to AAA Texas.

As for the statewide average, it's now reached $3.57 per gallon. The national average is rising even quicker. It added 13 cents to $3.74 per gallon.

The most expensive gas in the state was in Dallas at $3.59 per gallon.

According to AAA, continuing tensions in the Middle east are pressuring market crude oil prices and leading to concerns about future supplies.
