ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The Albuquerque police union's board holds an emergency meeting today amid recent resignations by the president and vice president after reports that the union gave payments to officers in officer-involved shootings. Albuquerque police shot and killed two men last week and officers have been involved in 23 shootings since January 2010.

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - New data from the CDC show that cases of active tuberculosis have stayed steady in New Mexico despite a 6 percent decline nationally last year. And the mortality rate among some populations here was four times the national average. State health officials say Native Americans and foreign born Hispanics in New Mexico suffer a 16 percent mortality rate versus 4 percent nationally.

CABALLO, N.M. (AP) - The Bureau of Reclamation says water will begin flowing from Caballo Reservoir into the Rio Grande in southern New Mexico early Sunday. The Rio Grande below the reservoir has been dry for several months, and the agency wants to warn anyone working or recreating in the area in the coming days about the change in the river's state.

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - The State Park Division says free boating safety courses will be offered starting in April at Elephant Butte Lake State Park. State law requires anyone born in 1989 or after that date to pass a safety course before operating a motorboat. Students must pass a closed book test to receive a "boater education card," which is accepted in all states. To reserve a space call 575-744-5998.
