AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Several flights at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport have been canceled.
Those flights were departing from the Dallas area or headed to the Dallas area. Many of Amarillo's flights follow that exact path.
Pat Rhodes, Director of Aviation, said the tornadoes and storms near the Dallas-Fort Worth area are to blame for the cancellations. The storms are affecting the DFW airport as well as Southwest Airlines' Love Field airport.
American Airlines, according to Rhodes, has been shut down for the remainder of the day in Dallas. It will resume operations Wednesday morning. As for Southwest Airlines, it is anticipating operations to resume sometime this evening.
