Volunteers from KHIVA Shrine are calling on a lot of Panhandle spirit as they raise funds for our nation's children.

They were out on the street corners all day collecting money for Shriners Hospitals for Children.

"We get out on the street corners to collect money," said Wilton Manley with KHIVA. "The money we collect goes to our hospitals to take care of the kids transportation and they're admitted to the hospitals at no cost to them."

The hospitals provide free orthopedic and burn care to children under 18.

They are hoping to raise between 15-20 thousand dollars.

That is how much they raised last year, and thanks to your generosity are confident they can do it again.

Children are accepted into Shriners Hospitals for Children based on their medical needs.
