AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Police are looking for the suspect they say robbed a convenience store robbed at gunpoint earlier this week.

According to police, officers responded to the Toot 'N Totum in the 4000 block of 34th Avenue on Wednesday evening just before midnight.

Police said the 19-year-old female employee reported to them that a black male, possibly 15 to 20 years in age, entered the store and walked behind the counter. He then, according to police, pointed what was described as a semi-automatic handgun at her. He told her to open the register and she would not be injured, police said.

The suspect was described as 5'9", wearing a ski mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and white shorts. Police said he took money out of the register along with two packs of cigarettes from behind the display.

He then fled the area, police said. No one was injured.

Any information on this robbery can be reported to Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
