AMARILLO, TEXAS -- With summer right around the corner, many of us are headed out and about. But if you're planning on being on the roads in and around Amarillo, there are a few road closures you'll need to watch out for from June 4 through June 10.
Expect lane closures in both directions from Atkinson Road to the Oldham County line on the I-40 frontage roads. TxDOT crews will be working on a seal-coat project.
On the I-27 frontage roads, you can expect lane closures in both directions from Western Street to Bell Street for ditch work.
No surprise here, but the Grand Street overpass construction project continues. The northbound lanes on the east-bound lanes of the east side of the roadway are closed. Traffic is also reduced to one lane in each direction on the two west-side lanes from about one half mile south of 3rd Street to about one half mile north of 3rd Street. That closure won't be re-opened anytime soon either, it'll be closed until the project ends at the end of this summer.
As always, all construction projects or closures are subject to delay or change because of weather, emergency work or other unexpected events. If you need more information on these closures or other TxDOT information, contact Paul Braun at 365-3256.
