AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An overturned semi at the underpass at Washington and Interstate 27 paralyzed traffic Monday afternoon.

Police said the trailer along with its cargo ended up on its side. A wrecker that responded to the accident also overturned, police said.

Motorists are recommended to avoid the Washington Street exits from I-27 until later in the afternoon.
