AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Police are searching for the man they say stole the purse of a 67-year-old woman returning home from playing Bingo.

The man is described as a black male ranging in age from 20-30 years old. Police said at about 9:30 p.m., on Monday, a 67-year-old woman was returning home from playing Bingo when she was getting out of her car and was approached by the man.

He was wearing a baseball hat, dark shorts and a hoodie. Police said he stated that he had a gun and struck the woman while taking her purse.

The robbery happened in the 3900 block of Paradise, people said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
