ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A mixed martial arts fighter from Albuquerque who police say beat his pregnant girlfriend so badly she later miscarried has turned himself into authorities. Willie "Slick" Parks faces aggravated assault charges and was ordered held on $50,000 cash bail after he was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals. A criminal complaint released yesterday says the woman told police that she blacked out during the beating and Parks didn't allow her to go to the doctor for days.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Federal authorities say they are looking for possible victims of a New Mexico man who authorities say talked about raping and cooking children and is charged in a massive child porn investigation. Richard Dates is due in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque today for a preliminary hearing. The 67-year-old was charged last week in a case that began in Massachusetts with the arrest of a hotel manager.

PHOENIX (AP) - A new Arizona State University study says that around 80 percent of the ads posted on the adult-services section of the classified website Backpage.com are for prostitutes. The study comes as New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez recently called for state lawmakers to change its state's outdated prostitution laws after a judge cleared two professors in New Mexico of running a prostitution-linked website.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque police have identified a man who died when he lost control of his motorcycle on an Albuquerque freeway. Police say 52-year-old Albuquerque resident Fred Drake was riding his Harley-Davidson south on Interstate 25 at high speed Saturday afternoon when he lost control on a curve. The bike went down on its right side and Drake hit a pickup that was parked along the freeway.
