AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Retail gasoline prices in Amarillo have jumped by nearly two dimes in the last month.

AAA Texas reported the average price for gas in Amarillo as $3.64. At the same time last month, the average price at the pump in Amarillo was listed as $3.45, 19 cents lower.

Compared to last year, Amarillo's gas prices are 16 percents higher now than they were at the same time last year - $3.48.

According to AAA Texas, the average price of gas in Texas was $3.65 per gallon and the national price was listed at $3.85.

Gas prices are expected to go down through the year's end, AAA Texas said.
