You may have heard of Santa on a sleigh, but Sunday it was all about Santa on a Harley.
The biker community of Amarillo gathered once again for, Biker Sunday.
Many packed saddlebags and hauled new toys to support the local toys for tots organization.
"This is a time for us as a community to come together, raise money for kids for Christmas. Historically we have about 20-25 thousand dollars' worth of toys for little kids," said Gary Burd, event committee.
"Then on Christmas Eve a bunch of us get together on motorcycles and go deliver them."
Its children whom are less fortunate in our area that will receive these gifts and nearly two thousand girls and boys will be smiling.
"Some of the toys that we'll gather up, will be bicycles and stuffed animals, train sets, Barbie dolls, scooters and all sorts of games," said Gary Scheller, who played Santa at the parade.
It's the community's donations that serve as the gift, of giving
"Last year we went out on Christmas Eve and there were three little children that their daddy had been killed in an Afghanistan battle and we were privileged to be able to give them gifts that day," said Burd.
For some riders, this is what the parade is all about.
"We've been doing it for quite a few years and just doing it to help kids out that don't get anything. It's for a good cause, you make a kid smile on Christmas morning, it's worth a whole heavens earth," said Bart Shwieterman, participant
So as the community unites, so does the Christmas and panhandle spirit.
"There is nothing like the joy of giving for Christmas, but then when you do and you know the community has come together for it, it's an exciting time," said Burd.
Santa's motorcycle side-kicks and toys for tots are working to ensure, everyone has happy holiday.
