AMARILLO, Texas (AP) - A Texas Panhandle man has been charged with pretending to be a fire marshal and wrongly ordering an 8-liner business to close.

Dustin Mark Fuller of Amarillo was charged Tuesday with impersonating a public servant and tampering with a government record. Authorities are seeking a motive.

Fire Marshal Terry McKinney said Wednesday that the case involves an Aug. 22 incident at an amusement business with casino-style machines. A worker later described the man to officers.

Investigators on Aug. 28 stopped Fuller in his SUV. The questioning led to Fuller's arrest on a narcotics possession charge. He was later freed on bond.

The impersonation and tampering charges were filed last week. Fuller surrendered Tuesday and was freed on $8,500 bond.

No working phone number could immediately be located for Fuller.
