TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Officials in eastern Oklahoma are preparing for an annual holiday recycling program.

Tulsa television station KTUL reports the "Unboxing Christmas" campaign begins Wednesday and ends Jan. 6.

The campaign is geared at encouraging people to recycle Christmas packaging as well as cardboard, paper, plastic, aluminum, glass and Styrofoam.

KTUL says part of the proceeds from the campaign will go to the Salvation Army and the Sandy Hook School fund through the United Way in Connecticut.

Recyclables can be dropped off at 1150 North Peoria Ave. in Tulsa or at other locations in Sand Springs, Jenks, Glenpool and elsewhere.
