APD investigates armed robbery

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Sunday morning Amarillo Police Officers responded to an armed robbery call in the 4200 block of south west 34th Avenue.
A female employee was working at the time of the robbery and told police that white male holding a knife entered the store and approached the counter.
The man reached over the counter and thrust a knife in her direction and demanded the money from the register. The clerk showed the man an empty register.
According to a news release from APD, the suspect then grabbed several lottery tickets, a safe drop and then instructed the employee to give him more lottery tickets. The man then left the store and was seen going westbound from the store.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect was last seen wearing a black face mask, bright orange t-shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. He is approximately 6-feet-tall and weighs about 225 pounds.
