DALLAS (AP) -- PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The winner of today's Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game takes control of the NFC East. The Cowboys have won two straight due largely to an improved pass rush and the play of receiver Miles Austin. The Eagles have beaten division foes Washington and New York in the past two weeks.

DALLAS (AP) — Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points and Josh Howard chipped in with 16 in his first game of the season as the Dallas Mavericks cruised past the Toronto Raptors 129-101 last night. Howard was returning from surgery on his left ankle and left wrist.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and held on to beat the Dallas Stars 3-2 last night. Loui Eriksson scored two power-play goals for the Stars.

UNDATED (AP) — Second-ranked Texas and No. 6 TCU are still unbeaten. The Longhorns shook off a slow start to beat Central Florida 35-3 on Jordan Shipley's record receiving day of 273 yards. The Horned Frogs jumped all over San Diego State 55-12. Andy Dalton threw for two scores and ran for two others.
