Local high school baseball coach says goodbye

AMARILLO,TEXAS -- Longtime Panhandle high school baseball coach Gary Hix is pulling up stakes after 22 seasons and heading south.

Hix, who was head coach at Canyon High for 15 seasons and Amarillo High the past 7 years, has taken the head baseball coaching position at Lubbock Coronado.

Hix played his college baseball at Lubbock Christian and his first coaching job, way back in the 1980's was at Lubbock Christian High School. His baseball knowledge will be missed in the ProNews 7 viewing area.
