FOLLETT, TEXAS -- Follett has been the class of the 6-man ranks for years now, not only in the Panhandle, but the entire state. Since the arrival, of Head Coach John York four years ago, the panthers have made it to the State Quarterfinals or better each year, even getting to a State Title Game in 2008.
"We want the kids to know that we are building a program to where we're going to be in the hunt for a State Championship every year," said Coach York.
York can't take all the credit, he's had an amazing group of players over the last few years.
"Our quarterback Braden Blau has been outstanding for us for four years, making plays, being a leader. Cole Freeman has also been one of the best, as a defensive threat and on the offensive side of the ball. We've just had a great bunch of seniors."
This senior led team is hungry for a State Chamionship, and have been close too many times. So getting another shot at Garden City is the next step.
"We're definetely a better team this year I think. We have a better chance going into this game this year," said Cole Freeman Follett running back and defensive end.
"We've played against them, we know what they're made of and how good they are. We're ready," said Follett QB Braden Blau.
"We want to win a State Championship, and we know it's one game at a time, and this game (Garden City) is the most important right know," said Coach York.
Follett and Garden City hook up Saturday 8pm in Seymour.
