Two athletes of note visited Amarillo on Tuesday with two different agenda.
At Amarillo High, PGA member Ryan Palmer was inducted into the Sandie Hall of Fame.
The 1995 AHS grad has won 3 times on the PGA tour and once in New Zealand on the Nationwide Tour. Ryan recognized for his work off the golf course thanks to his foundation that donated $100,000 to Northwest Texas Healthcare System to build a healing garden for patients and families that includes a nine hole putting green. Ryan is currently ranked 90th in the world and this week will play in the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio.
The other visitor to Amarillo could have his name called in the NFL draft that takes place next weekend. Quarterback Case Keenum, soon to be University of Houston graduate was the guest speaker at the annual Fellowship of Christian Athlete's victory banquet.
Keenum a native of Abilene and Abilene Wylie graduate won a high school state football title and a bowl game to end his college career. He won the Sammy Baugh award twice, given to the top college passer. He also is the ninth recipient of the Bobby Bowden Athlete of the year. A full house to hear Keennum speak as over 50 FCA chapters located in the Texas Panhandle with over 3000 student athletes enjoying what the FCA offers.
