WT Softball drops to No. 4 seed

The West Texas A&M baseball and softball teams coming off a rough weekend that saw both teams lose ground in the Lone Star Conference standings and in the case of the softball team, drop to a number 4 seed in the upcoming post-season tournament.

The baseball team lose three of four at Incarnate Word and dropped from first to fourth in the standings. The Battin' Buffs will get the chance to regroup this weekend by hosting rival Eastern New Mexico in a four game series. A single contest Friday, a doubleheader on Saturday and the finale on Sunday at Wilder Park.

The Lady Battin' Buffs have cancelled a scheduled doubleheader at Central Oklahoma for Tuesday and instead will prepare for the upcoming LSC tournament. Here are the matchups for that event that will be played at Texas Woman's University.

Friday, April 27

3. Tarleton St. vs 6. Midwestern St./11:30am

2. Texas Woman's vs 7. Incarnate Word/2pm

4. W. Texas A&M vs 5. Abilene Christian/4:30pm

1. Angelo State vs 8. Cameron/7pm

Semi-finals set for noon and 2:30 on Saturday with the Championship game at 6pm.
