The Amarillo Sox have been beset by a host of issues starting out the current seven game road swing.

Defections, suspensions and injuries have made finding a starting lineup for Manager John Harris difficult. On Wednesday night, just 7 players available so starting pitcher Chuck Lofgren had to hit for himself in a lineup that included a new catcher, another player in just his second game and another pitcher, Phil Bartleski starting at first base.

All of that added up to problems late in the game and for the second straight night, Wichita rallied to win the game in the 9th inning, thanks to a two-out, 2 rbi base hit. Final score, Wichita 7, Amarillo 6.

The series concludes Thursday and then the Sox travel to El Paso for three games.
