Peanut butter recalls expand

PORTALES, N.M. -- The list of peanut butter recalls out of Sunland, Inc., in New Mexico is once again expanding.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), environmental samples taken at the Sunland nut butter production facility show the presence of Salmonella.

The recall was expanded to include all products made at the Sunland production facility between March 2, 2012 and September 24, 2012.

More than 130 products were added to the recall. The total number of products by Sunland to be recalled is now 240.

The FDA reports the recall covers the following products: Peanut Butter, Almond Butter, Cashew Butter, Tahini products and Roasted Blanched Peanut products. Added to the recall were several varieties of flavored butters and spreads such as Thai Ginger Butter, Chocolate Butter and Banana Butter.
