ATV crash critically injures man

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A 39-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries Saturday evening in an ATV crash in North Amarillo.

The crash, according to police, happened at Hastings Avenue and Buck Street at about 7 p.m., Saturday.

Police said a Polaris 850 ATV, driven by 39-year-old Lee Anthony Ramon, had rolled. A 13-year-old female juvenile was also on the ATV, police said.

The juvenile was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Ramon was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said speed was a factor in the crash. Neither Ramon or the passenger were wearing a helmet, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
