Police: Man robbed at knifepoint behind Amarillo truck stop

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A 25-year-old truck driver from California was robbed at knifepoint early Sunday afternoon in the back parking lot of an Amarillo truck stop, police said.

The robbery happened in the parking lot of the TA Truck Stop in the 7000 block of I-40 east just after noon on Sunday.

Police said the man reported that he was robbed at knifepoint. The suspects, according to police, took cash and jewelry.

A suspect vehicle was stopped leaving the scene and three suspects were detained, police said.

A 37-year-old Ohio man was booked into jail on unrelated charges, a 36-year-old Ohio man was booked on an outstanding warrant and a third suspect was later released.

Police said the incident remains under investigation.
