Intruders threaten, rob an Amarillo family

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo police are looking for two armed men who entered a residence in the 1600 block of North Arthur.

Tuesday night at approximately 8:40 p.m. officers responded to a home invasion call. A woman and her children were inside the house when the two men came bursting through the door, according to a news release from Amarillo Police Department.

The woman told officers that the men entered her house and demanded money and her purse. When she told the intruders that she did not have her anything to give them they pointed a gun at one of the children and threatened to shoot him. She then went into another room and gave one of the intruders her purse and her cellphone.

Both men ran out the front door toward the alley after taking the items.

Officers later recovered the victims phone in the alley east of the residence. The purse and its contents were not recovered.

The intruders are described a black males, 5'8" to 5'10" wearing dark clothing. One of the intruders was wearing a black ski mask and the other was wearing an orange mask. Both of the intruders were armed.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.
