AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Wednesday morning officers were dispatched to the 400 block of south Crockett Street on a disorderly conduct call. The caller told police that a woman was throwing clothing and other items out of a house and into the street.

According to an Amarillo Police Department news release, Cpl. Donna Hill was the first to arrive at the scene. Hill began speaking with the woman who was very agitated and cursing at her.

Hill tried to calm her down while the female continued to be confrontational. As Hill tried to arrest the woman for disorderly conduct, the woman ran inside the residence and tried to slam the door. Hill followed her and the women began to fight.

A backup officer arrived at the time the women began fighting and tased the female suspect. The suspect was later identified as 32-year-old Brandi Nicole Reeves. Reeves was arrested and booked into the Potter County Jail for aggravated assault on a Peace Officer and disorderly conduct.

Hill hit her head on a metal table during the altercation. She was transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries. After receiving stitches for a laceration on her forehead she was later released.
