AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Early Friday morning, Amarillo Police officers arrested 48-year-old Melody Gaye Jewell after she struck an Ambulance.
When police arrived at the scene the found a Dodge Dakota was traveling westbound on St. Francis Street when it struck an Ambulance stopped at a red light. Police noticed that the driver of the Dodge, Melody Gaye Jewell, was intoxicated. Police also learned that Jewell was texting while driving when she hit the ambulance.
According to a news release, a paramedic on the ambulance was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Jewell was later booked into the Potter County Jail for DWI.
