AMARILLO, TEXAS -- TXDOT Update: I-40 is still closed from the Oklahoma state line to the New Mexico state line and will remain closed until further notice from DPS (except for within the Amarillo city limits)

Many secondary roads have not yet been addressed and may not be passable at this time. Clean up on these roads will occur on a priority basis.

The following roadways are open and unrestricted:
· IH 27
· US 287 north of Amarillo
· US 287 south of Amarillo
· US 385
· US 60
· US 54

Although these roads are open, the ice pack and snow drifts are still making for hazardous travel. Allow plenty of extra time when traveling, and give TxDOT plows room to work. National Guard units from Lubbock and Childress are on their way to Amarillo to assist DPS with helping motorists who still may be stranded on area roadway.
