Panhandle wrestlers made a good impression at the UIL State Meet in Austin over the weekend capturing gold and one team title.

The Randall Raiders won the 4A boys championship thanks to first place finishes by Jacob Rubio and Beau Henson who won gold. Chris Thompson captured a silver, and Joel Gallardo took the bronze. All the points helped the Raiders hold off Frisco in the boys team standings. Other gold medalist include Tascosa's Josh Mora, and the only girl to take home a gold medal was Michelle Lomas.

On the girls side this note the Caprock Lady Longhorns quest for a 10th straight title wasn't successful as they finished 2nd in the team standings behind Azle.

Congratulations to the Randall Raiders, and all of our area wrestlers who brought home medals.
