Angelo State has a new football coach

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS (AP) -- Angelo State University has named Will Wagner as head football coach.

The school in San Angelo on Thursday announced the selection of Wagner. He previously was assistant head coach at Northwest Missouri State University.

Wagner succeeds Dale Carr, who was 28-36 record in six seasons with the Rams.

Wagner was an All-American defensive back at Hardin-Simmons University. He played at the school in Abilene from 1992-95.
