Two local boys hit the big time

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Day two of the Major League Baseball draft saw two ProNews 7 area athletes selected.

Parker Bridwell of Hereford was chosen by Baltimore in the 9th round, the 268th player taken overall. He has signed to pitch at Texas Tech but now will have to make a decision on whether to go to school or go pro.

Former Palo Duro standout, Cory Goudeau was selected in the 18th round by Florida, 557 overall. He has pitched the past two seasons at Frank Phillips College and  will have to decide between continuing to pitch in college where he has two offers or head to the minor leagues.
