AMARILLO, TEXAS --   The professional baseball season is officially underway in Amarillo, Texas on May 7th 2012. The Amarillo Sox had physicals on Monday morning, then hit the field at ANB Sox Stadium in the afternoon for their first workout. Sox manager John Harris welcomed 24 players to camp, and he's expecting to have to cut just two to fill out his 22 man opening day roster. A number of players are back from last years team plus a host of new pitching prospects. One new face and arm belongs to former Texas Ranger Wes Littleton. He is recovering Tommy John surgery, and looks to spend this summer getting himself in shape in hopes of a big league return. The Sox open the season May 18th at home against the Winnepeg Goldeyes.
