ARLINGTON, TEXAS (AP) -- The Texas Rangers today removed left-handers A.J. Murray, John Rheinecker and Bill White, and right-hander Brian Gordon from their 40-man roster.
All four will become minor league free agents after the World Series.
Each cleared waivers before being outrighted by Texas.
The Rangers also say outfielder Marlon Byrd has had successful surgery on his left knee, in a procedure done in Cincinnati.
Byrd, who hit .298 with 10 home runs and 53 RBIs in 122 games, was bothered by knee inflammation all season, missing 25 games in April and May while on the disabled list.
-- Murray was 1-0 with a 3.52 ERA in two starts for Texas before being placed on the disabled list June 4th with a strained left rotator cuff.
-- Rheinecker spent the entire season on the DL after experiencing a tingling in his left arm on the first day of spring training.
-- Gordon, a 30-year-old converted outfielder, made his major league debut when he allowed one run over three relief appearances as a September callup.
-- White gave up nine runs in four innings in his eight relief appearances in late August and September.
