NORMAN, OKLA. (AP) -- NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops and two Sooners players say there is no truth to rumors the players are academically ineligible.
Internet message boards have said offensive tackle Phil Loadholt and safety Lendy Holmes would not be eligible to play in the national championship game against Florida.
Loadholt says he doesn't know what was going on but he just graduated with a bachelor's degree.
Holmes was academically ineligible for last year's Fiesta Bowl and says he used that as motivation in the classroom this year.
Holmes says he was irritated but decided to ignore the talk.
