GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- A North Carolina city is a finalist for a lucrative figure skating event in 2011 that could bring a $30 million economic boost with it.
The News & Record of Greensboro reported Tuesday that Greensboro and Kansas City are finalists for the six-day U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
Greensboro officials were showing figure skating officials around town Monday. They toured the Greensboro Coliseum, nearby hotels and other attractions.
The championship would attract 1,500 athletes be broadcast nationally.
This year's championship is in Cleveland.
