AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Arena football is about to re-organize and the Amarillo Dusters may or may not be a part of the plan. Next Tuesday, league officials and team owners of AF2 and the bankrupt AFL will meet in Tulsa, Oklahoma to announce the formation of a new league, to be called "arena football 1".
Dusters owner Randy Sanders will be attending the meeting to see what the new league will look like and how it will affect his team. A number of different possibilities have been floated around including and upper tier and lower tier with lower tier teams acting as feeders for the upper teams.
Dusters GM Joe Morgador told Pro News Seven Sports the team has also been approached by at least two other indoor leagues about joining those organizations. The Dusters will hold a press conference of their own on Tuesday, September 29 to clear the air.
