TULIA, TEXAS -- A rare occurrence in Texas high school football this week, as Tulia High School will not finish the varsity football season for various reasons. The Hornets forfeited last weeks game with Muleshoe and will now do so for the remaining three games with Dimmitt, Floydada and Childress. Below is the memo released by the Tulia ISD regarding the situation

Memo

To: Whom it may concern

From: Tulia ISD

Date: October 21, 2009

The Tulia ISD has regretfully determined that it is necessary to cancel our remaining varsity football games due to the low number of participants.

Injuries, failures, sickness, and a lack of commitment on some player’s part who have quit or been removed from the program have brought us to this point. We apologize for the inconvenience that this causes our scheduled opponents and to our fans. We will continue to play our junior high and junior varsity schedules as they are posted.
