The 2010 Texas-Texas Tech football game has been moved from its scheduled late-season matchup to Sept. 18 for a prime-time national television broadcast.

LUBBOCK, TEXAS (AP) -- No time has been set for the early Big 12 matchup in Lubbock, which Texas Tech announced Friday.

It will be the first Big 12 game for Red Raiders new coach Tommy Tuberville. He succeeded Mike Leach, who was fired Dec. 30.

The game will be broadcast on one of the ABC/ESPN network channels.

The game also was moved up last season following the Red Raiders 39-33 win over the Longhorns in 2008, which was one of the highest viewer-rated games in ABC history.

Texas beat Texas Tech 34-24 in Austin on Sept. 19.
