The University Interscholastic League's biennal realignment on Monday has again affected schools in the Pro News 7 Viewing area. From the 5A ranks to 11-man football and basketball, once again teams will be moving and changing.
Just two schools, Pampa and Panhandle will drop in classification while no schools will move up. Pampa goes from 4A to 3A while Panhandle moves from 2A to 1A. Amarillo High and Tascosa have had their travel issues resolved as both schools will no longer travel to Odessa and Midland for games as the UIL has done away the 10 team league. Instead the AISD will join the Lubbock Schools and San Angelo Central for a six team league. Abilene Cooper's move to 5A now has the two schools from that city along with the two from Odessa and two from Midland in their own district. The other big change has the area 4A district going to a large eight team league for the first time.
Here are the football districts for area schools for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years.
