Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo
THE WOODLANDS, Texas (AP) - Tony Romo has resumed his bid to qualify for the U.S. Open after a 2-hour weather delay.
The Dallas Cowboys quarterback is one of 36 players vying for two spots in a 36-hole sectional qualifier at The Club at Carlton Woods, just north of Houston. Romo was 2-over par after five holes when air horns halted play about 10:30 a.m. local time. Radar showed heavy thunderstorms just east of the course, but the sky was clear by noon and the players resumed their rounds at 12:30 p.m.
Romo is playing with Thomas Hagler and Dustin Wigington on Monday. The field also includes former PGA champion Steve Elkington and PGA Tour pro Bob Estes.
