AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo High has a new head baseball coach.

Two weeks after the departure of Gary Hix to take the same position at Lubbock Coronado, Sandie baseball has a new leader.

Jeff Timmons will take over the program. He is a veteran of 26 years coaching, 22 of them as a head baseball coach. Timmons led Wills Point to the playoffs eight straight seasons from 2001-08. He also led Lampasas and Brownfield to the post-season from 1991-99. He has won 13 district championships and 8 area round titles. His overall coaching record in baseball is 354-215.
