MELROSE, NEW MEXICO -- The Melrose Buffaloes came back from behind with just four minutes left to beat Mountainair 22-20 in the New Mexico 8 man State Championship game.

Down 20-14 with four minutes left, Buffalo quarterback Seaver Tate scored on QB keeper from 1 yard out to tie the game. Then Tate connected on a screen pass to Daylan Dial who dove in for the two point conversion to put the Buffaloes up 22-20, and secure the third straight State Championship for Melrose.

"It was tougher than the previous two championships.  We had to fight to the end to win this one, and I think with this group of players it made it more rewarding," said the Melrose Coaching Staff.

Congratulations from Pronews 7 on the Three Peat!! Way to go.
