WT men's basketball team sees first defeat

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The opening round of Lone Star Conference South Division play turned out to be a good news-bad news story for West Texas A&M.

The good saw the road weary Lady Buffs roll up a 74-67 win at Incarnate Word, improving to 8-6 overall and 1-0 in LSC South play.

The bad had the unbeaten and 19th ranked Buffaloes blown out by the 12th ranked host Cardinals with ease 78-61. The Buffs fall to 13-1 and 0-1 in LSC South play. The two teams will be back in action Saturday at the FUB Center to host rival Eastern New Mexico.
