AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo resident Daren Brown is headed to MLB spring training.
In 2010, Brown started out managing the Tacoma Rainiers, the AAA franchise of the Seattle Mariners but late in the big league season, he was called up to manage the "big club" after the Mariners fired their manager. Brown led the team for the final 50 games of the season, but did not get the full time job, so he will return to manage Tacoma in 2011. Pitchers and catchers report over this weekend with workouts starting Monday the 14th.
