DENVER -- One of the biggest names in sports is leaving the midwest and heading north.
Tim Tebow, the quarterback for the Denver Broncos is officially being traded to the New York Jets, according to the team's Twitter page.
@NYJETS: #RL Jets have just announced they have agreed on a trade with Denver Broncos for QB Tim Tebow.
Tebow has made headlines around the world and drew about a lot of attention and popularity with his strong religious beliefs.
He was originally drafted during the first found of the 2010 NFL Draft. Tebow helped take the team to the playoffs this season after replacing Kyle Orton halfway through the season.
It was just last week when the Indianapolis Colts released QB Peyton Manning to play for the Broncos. Manning missed the entire 2011 season because of a neck injury. His contact is for five years and a toal of $96 million.
