Local volleyball player named NJCAA player of the week

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Frank Phillips College, setter and right-side hitter Viktorija Jablonska, has been named one of NJCAA Women's Volleyball Players of the Week for all games played August 30 through September 5. She comes to the Panhandle from Daugavpils, Latvia, and recorded 66 kills, 9 blocks, 25 digs, 7 aces, and 81 assists in five victories for Frank Phillips last week. On September 4th, during a five game match versus Panola College, she finished with 19 kills, 22 assists, and a hitting percentage of 66.6%.

Jablonska, was one of  nine players from the college's 2009 roster to return this year. She also earned All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference Honors in 2009. Jablonska also led the team in assists (6.95 per game) and accumulated 182 season kills, while still maintaining a .318 hitting percentage.

The team's next game is on September 11, in Lubbock against Lubbock Christian University. 

Lincoln Land Community College (Ill.) setter Beka Pruemer, and Brookhaven College (Texas) middle hitter Sarah Terry were also named NJCAA Women's Volleyball Players of the Week.
