A host of area high school athletes and coaches honored on Thursday night at the annual Amarillo Globe News-Happy State Bank awards banquet.

The top high school athletes for the past season acknowledged along with top scholars.

The overall top athletes selected both wrestlers and both four time state champions. Shelby Morrison of Bushland HS and Nick Hermann of Tascosa HS. The top coaches were Wade Williams of Wellington HS and the retiring Jack Wilson of Dumas HS.
