Today - Sunny
Hi 80° | Low 51°
We may see some lingering cloud cover, and a few showers down across the extreme southern parts of the Texas Panhandle by early Friday morning, but mostly sunny skies are on tap for the rest of the area, becoming cloud free throughout the rest of the day! Thanks to that cold front from Thursday, conditions will be lovely as high temperatures only rise into the upper 70s to mid 80s. Expect barely a hush of a breeze from the northeast to the southeast around 5-15 mph on Friday.
Tonight - Clear
Low 54°
Thanks to light winds, and clear skies, temperatures will fall well down into the mid 50s keeping us pretty cool throughout the night! Expect a 5-15 mph breeze generally out of the south. The sky will be clear to mostly clear.

HI 87°
Sunny
Hi 87° | Low 54°
After a nice and cool start to the day in which we will see low temperatures in the 50s throughout the region with the possibility of upper 40s for the northwestern Texas Panhandle, we should have a splendid day for any and all outdoor activities on this first day of the Labor Day weekend! Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy as high temperatures warm into the 80s to near 90° throughout the region by late day. Winds will be light and blow from the east and southeast at speeds averaging 5-15 mph during the morning before shifting more to the south and southwest in the afternoon at speeds ranging from 15-25 mph. Enjoy!
Sun, September 5
HI 93°
Mostly Sunny
Hi 93° | Low 61°
The weather simply couldn't be much better for the holiday weekend as plenty of sunshine and "seasonably" hot conditions can be expected. To begin the day, it will be somewhat "cool" with lows in the 50s to lower 60s for the majority of the region; however, with plenty of sunshine under sunny skies, it won't take long for the mercury to soar into the middle 80s to the middle 90s by late day. Winds will blow from the south and southwest at speeds averaging 15-25 mph during the morning, then may increase to the 20-30 mph range with some gusts possibly in the 35-40 mph range in the afternoon. This "breezy" wind might be the only problem as far as the weather goes on Sunday.
Mon, September 6
HI 91°
Windy
Hi 91° | Low 64°
By the time Labor Day comes along, conditions across much of the High Plains should be rather windy. This, however looks to be the only 'fly in the ointment,' for your extended holiday weekend! Southerly to southwesterly winds will likely blow at speeds ranging from 20-30 mph with some gusts upwards of 40-50 mph possible. These winds may cause napkins to start flying off picnic tables and watch those drink cups as they tip over without notice! Otherwise, it will be a typically hot day for the "unofficial end of Summer" across the High Plains as mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies allow enough sunshine to warm us up into the upper 80s to the upper 90s by late day. A cold front is scheduled to blow our way and should start getting close to southwestern Kansas, southeastern Colorado and the Oklahoma Panhandle by late day.
Tue, September 7
HI 88°
Partly Cloudy with Isolated Thunderstorms
Hi 88° | Low 61°
Much of the day on Tuesday may be quite pleasant as a weak cold front may bring some relief to the heat we had over the weekend! That front may also kick off a few isolated late afternoon storms, but most of the day should come with mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions. High temperatures will rise into the mid 80s to mid 90s, as a northwesterly wind blows around 15-25 mph.
